When I’m using Google Chrome, Dragon stops working with it
after about half an hour or 45 minutes. Closing Chrome and restarting it
usually fixes the problem until it happens again. Eventually, I get the
following message:
<p ="Msonormal">

<p ="Msonormal">“It appears that the Dragon extension for Chrome has been
disabled or uninstalled. For the best experience, including enhanced dictation,
please restore the extension.â€

<p ="Msonormal">

<p ="Msonormal">I restore the extension, and it solves the problem for a
while. But I probably get this message and restore the extension twice a day.

<p ="Msonormal">

<p ="Msonormal">If anyone can offer any advice or perspective, I would very
much appreciate it.

First, it's probably faster and a little bit safer to use Edge Dev instead of Chrome, especially since all Chrome extensions will work in Edge Dev as well.
However you will probably run into the same problems when it comes to the Dragon web extension. Truth is that for a lot of users the web extension just doesn't work. I've tried it on and off for several years and the result has always been the same. It sort of works for about 10 minutes and then Dragon starts to glitch and freeze.
The standard VoiceComputer intags now completely support both browsers so there really shouldn't be too much need to call the links by their names anymore (simple numbers will do, and that's also more speech friendly ).
When it comes to Select-and-Say capability you may be interested in SP Chrome Search (Edge Search will be included in the next version as well). It enables Select-and-Say Internet searches right from your desktop and from within the browser itself. SP will also give you everything you need to dictate into speech unfriendly webforms.
You shouldn’t have any problems with the Dragon web extension regardless of the browser in which is installed. I’ve used the Dragon web extension (15.2.0.17 current version) in both Chrome and Chromium Edge
and have never had any problems.
Those users that are having a problem with the Dragon web extension in Chrome or Chromium Edge most likely have problems with their installation of both browsers, or are using the wrong Dragon web extension.
